Rotaract in Rotary International District 3220

Rotaract is a global youth movement recognized and elevated as a membership type of Rotary International that empowers youth to lead positive change in communities. Introduced in 1969 to Sri Lanka, Rotaract is one of the largest voluntary youth organizations led by proactive and dynamic individuals in the country above the age of 18 years. Since the inception, it has evolved as a strong youth-led platform nurturing fellowship and leadership for social innovation in the country. Presently, Rotaract in Rotary International District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives comprises more than 7000 reported members from 70+ Rotaract clubs with a geographical representation in 7 administrative provinces of the country. The movement carries a locational significance in the communities of Colombo, Negombo, Kandy, Kurunegala, Hatton, Rathnapura, Badulla, and Jaffna due to its steady growth in membership.

Rotaract District Organisation RID 3220 is the administrative body of all the Rotaract Clubs island wide and is headed by the District Rotaract Representative (DRR). For the Rotary year 2020-2021, the movement is spearheaded by DRR Rtr. PP Kasun Sigera equipped with his vibrant vision to establish the footprint of Rotaract all over the island as the most preferred youth-led movement for professional and personal growth, while ensuring that the sustainable impact of the collective services of Rotaractors reach all deserving individuals and communities at large.
 
Rotaract in Sri Lanka and Maldives is a one stop hub for inclusive youth development and plays a key role in transforming the long term dreams into reality. The movement entails a series of opportunities for young individuals to widen their skills and social networks while paving the pathway to become future leaders of our nation. The strength of the movement is in its diverse membership, as it includes young professionals, entrepreneurs and students from various backgrounds working TOGETHER to serve humanity and to STRIVE AS ONE.
